The William J. von Liebig Foundation has focused its attention on funding unique programs or concepts in the medical health area and has supported various programs that were not covered by major government or private grants.

Our sepia-toned logo contains the name of the Foundation superimposed upon a stylized drawing of a butterfly on the left and an image of a young scientist on the right with our vision statement beneath.

The butterfly symbolizes the mystery and beauty of life in its transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. The young scientist image from Mr. von Liebig's high school yearbook captures his spirit of enthusiasm, creative energy and technological innovation.

The statement "Empowering Vision... Transforming Ideas...Enriching Life..." expresses the Foundation's desire to facilitate a three-fold process: initially we would like to provide an environment that nurtures and educates; these are prerequisites to vision, and ideas are the fruit of vision. Next we would like to provide tools to support the transformation of ideas from concept to reality. Finally, when people can avail themselves to the resultant products or services, their lives will be enriched.
